Amenities

Cuisine, wildlife, relaxation & more

Enjoy the epitome of true Texas hospitality as you sip cocktails on the shaded porch or at the well-provisioned bar—or perhaps arrange for a wine tasting in the lodge’s elegant wine cellar. Menus can be tailored to your wishes, as our chefs’ repertoire includes a wide array of cuisines to tempt your palate—from down-home Texas barbecue, oyster roasts, and fresh fish frys to elegant venison backstrap, duck, and seafood.

And that’s just the food. Enjoy hunting, saltwater and freshwater fishing, clay target shooting, swimming, bird watching and all the other amenities that Spread Oaks Ranch has to offer.

Main House

The expansive great room with its massive fireplace and stone interior walls is at the heart of the 15,000-square-foot Main House. Rich leather sofas and chairs invite conversation, and a Baby Grand piano stands at the ready. A well-appointed stone bar outfitted with hair-on-hide barstools awaits. Past the bar area are two master suites.

Quarters

In addition to the Main House Suite, the ranch has three casitas with private bathrooms, plus a bunkhouse with six beds and two spacious bathrooms and an adjacent game room. And the new Old Three Hundred offers eight rooms, 12 beds, eight-and-a-half-baths.

Dining

Dining areas include the formal dining room; a vaulted, stone-clad wine cellar; and a sun-drenched breakfast room with an expansive view of the endless-pool swim spa and infinity-edge pool overlooking the lake. Outdoor dining is available by the outdoor grill or on the oak-shaded stone pavilion.

Infinity Pool

Just steps outside the back of the Main House, an endless spa awaits your choice of either soaking away your aches and pains or tackling a brisk workout swim, while the array of chaises around the infinity-edge pool invite sunbathing followed by a cooling dip.

Clay Target Shooting

Do some practice shooting prior to duck hunting or challenge your companions to break targets in a friendly round of clays. Our high house, low house, and four trap machines throw targets at the touch of a remote control. A covered pavilion provides a resting spot for shooters and spectators alike.

Fishing

Lunker bass—as well as feisty bream—lurk in the managed five-acre lake behind the lodge, awaiting your well-placed fly or lure. Gravel pathways around the lake, as well as a dock and jutting peninsulas, allow you to stalk your prey from any direction.

Game Room

We invite you and your guests to enjoy our game room. With a pool table, a card table, and an assortment of books and games—plus a wet bar and small refrigerator—its above-the-garage location is accessible either by stairs or by our unique hair-on-hide-clad elevator.

Recreation

In addition to hunting and fishing, Spread Oaks Ranch staff is delighted to arrange other recreational activities for you and your guests—whether it be saltwater or freshwater fishing, birding and/or conservation tours, photo safaris, or another activity of your choice.
