Teal season marks the official kickoff to duck hunting in Texas, going from September 19th through the 28th. It’s the first chance of the year to get out in the blinds and experience the thrill of waterfowl season.
We’re immensely proud—and deeply grateful—for the teal hunting experience we offer at Spread Oaks Ranch. Not only is it the perfect (and early) way to kick off duck season, it’s also some of the finest teal hunting you’ll find anywhere.
Every summer, our team meticulously prepares the fields and ponds to welcome the first-of-the-season blue-winged teal. And this year (Update 9/02/2025), they’ve arrived early!

In addition to world-class teal hunting, we’re proud to offer combined hunting packages for guests looking to make the most of their time at Spread Oaks Ranch. Afternoon hunts for alligators or hogs add a thrilling twist to the day—and for those seeking the ultimate experience, we also offer upland preserve hunts or our signature continental pheasant tower shoots.

Pricing
Spread Oaks Lodge pricing for a 10-person minimum and 12-person maximum is $1,850 per person per night. We do offer “share the ranch” for groups less than 10-person during weekdays. There is a two-night minimum during hunting season. Pricing is inclusive of our premier lodging, field-to-table and farm-to-table cuisine, and fine liquors, plus unlimited largemouth and striped bass fishing in our stocked pond and a round of clay targets on the afternoon of your arrival.
